The present salary of the vice- president of india is 4 lakh and he or she is also paid daily allowances , free accommodation, medical allowances and travel allowances. The pension paid to him after retirement from office is 50 % of his salary.
The second highest constitution in the country after the President is that of the Vice President.

The VP is also known as the ex officio Chair perosn of the Rajya sabha.
According to the provisions stated in the law the salary of the Chair person of rajya sabha is to be given by consolidated funds.
