Given : Sales price of a sewing machine is Rs. 4248. (including 16.5% GST).

To Find :  price without GST

Solution:

Let say Price without GST  =  1000P  Rs

GST Rate = 16.5 %

GST  =   (16.5/100) 1000P  = 165P  Rs

Amount including GST = 1000P + 165P  Rs

= 1165P

1165P  =  4248

=> P = 4248/1165

=> 1000P  = 1000 x 4248  /1165

=> 1000P = 3,646.35

price without GST  = 3,646.35   Rs
