marked price of the object = Rs 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Marked Price of object = M rs

salesperson A sells an object at a price rs.5 less than marked price

Selling Price = M -  5 Rs

5 % Commission on selling price

=> Commission = (5/100)(M - 5)  Rs

salesperson B sells an object at a price rs.15 less than marked price

Selling Price = M -  15 Rs

15 % Commission on selling price

=> Commission = (15/100)(M - 15)  Rs

both A and B receive the same amount in commission

(5/100)(M - 5)   = (15/100)(M - 15)

=> M - 5 = 3(M - 15)

=> M - 5= 3M - 45

=> 2M = 40

=> M = 20

marked price of the object = Rs 20
