Salil's age is 23 times more than half of Sangram's age . Five years ago the sum of their ages was 55 years. Find their present ages.

Let the age of Sahil and Sangram age be X and y respectively...

Now, 23+X/Y

2x = 46 + y

2x+y = 46......( I )

five years ago...

(x-5) + (y-5= 55 years........

( 2 ) multiply 2 with eq 2

> X+ y = 65......(2)

2x+2y = 130

thus,

(1)- (2)

2x+y = 46

2x+ 2y = 130..........

-y = -84

y= 84

putting y = 84

X = 23+y/2

X = 23+46

X= 65 years....
