Salimbhai takes 30 hours to saw 9000 cubic feet work by machine in "Dharati Saw Mill" and Junaidbhai takes 45 hours. If both do the same work together and remuneration paid is Rs.3000, how much remuneration will each get?

◆ Explanation -

Two workers get a total of 3000 to saw 3000 cu.ft. wood.

Charges = 3000/9000

Charges = 1/3 Rs/cu.ft

Let x cu.ft. be wood cut by Salimbhai, then remaining 9000-x cu.ft. wood will be sawed by Junaidbhai.

Both worked for same time, therefore -

x × 30 = (9000-x) × 45

30x = 405000 - 45x

75x = 405000

x = 405000/75

x = 5400 cu.ft.

Thus, Salimbhai sawed 5400 cu.ft. wood and remaining 9000-5400 = 3600 cu.ft. wood is sawed by Junaidbhai.

Remuneration recieved by Salimbhai is -

Salimbhai = wood sawed × charges

Salimbhai = 5400 × 1/3

Salimbhai = 1800 Rs

Remuneration recieved by Junaidbhai is -

Junaidbhai = wood sawed × charges

Junaidbhai = 3600 × 1/3

Junaidbhai = 1200 Rs
