Step-by-step explanation:

Answer: 41 yrs ago

80 minus 54 = 26

Sally x + 26. =

Mom x

2x = 26. X=13

When Sally 13 her mom was 3x 13÷ 39.

(Difference in years is 26).

Mom is 80 now, less 39, tells us that it was 41 years ago.

Hope it will help you

Answer:

Let us assume x years back , Sally's mom's age is 3 times of Sally's age.

According to question;

3(54 - x) = 80 - x

162 - 3x = 80 - x

162 - 80 = 3x - x

82 = 2x

x = 41.

So , 41 years ago, Mothers age is 3 times of Sally's age.
