salt can be poured into a glass just like water why is it then call the solid please answer

This is because water can flow from one place to other but salt cannot.

Also salt does not take up the shape of the glass in which it is kept,but water does.

because solids are those substances which have mass and volume and they are not affected by the changes in temperature.
whereas, liquids have property of fluidity.
