When we add salt in Water (Universal Solvent), a time will come when salt appears to settle down at the bottom. This is because as we know that there are some spaces between the particles of liquid so some of the the salt occupy that space and for rest there is no space so they settle down.

The salt in the solution will be dissociated and forms X+ and Y-. Here, X is metal and Y is non-metal.

Salt Concentration becomes more than the water conc. that becomes a highly conc. soln. so it becomes a saturated solution and thus can't afford any more salt in it.
