salt takes the shape of a container . why is it called a solid?

ANSWER

Reason:

As, solids are rigid form of matter and have fixed shape and volume.even though , common salt crystals when poured in any container, they take the shape of container, still each granule of common salt retain their fixed shape and volume.

because solid have definite shape and volume in which they can be made .so salt can take the shape of the container .
