Two salts are used for black and white photography.
These are SILVER CHLORIDE and SILVER BROMIDE.
These two undergo photochemical decomposition reaction when exposed to light and therefore they change to colour grey due to formation of silver.
2AgCl -------> 2Ag + Cl2.
2AgBr -------> 2Ag + Br2.
