Hi, this question seems to be technical in nature; and for a salt to be hydrolyzed, it must have strong conjugate acid or base.

And normally we say that cationic hydrolysis involves salt of strong acid and weak base and normally the resultant pH<7

For instance, NH4Cl + aq -----> NH4OH + HCl  

But we also say that anionic hydrolysis involves salt of weak acid and strong base and the resultant pH>7

For instance Ch3COONa + aq ----> CH3COOH + NaOH
