Given : Sam and Simran both have some  marbles in their hands

Sam says to  Simran if you give me your one  marble then we both have an equal  number of marbles

Simran smiles  and says to Sam if you give me your  one marble, then I will have double  the marbles left with you

To Find : How many  marbles both have in their hands

Solution :

SAM has marbles = A

Simran has Marbles = B

Sam says to  Simran if you give me your one  marble then we both have an equal  number of marbles

=> A + 1 = B - 1

=>  A = B - 2

Simran smiles  and says to Sam if you give me your  one marble, then I will have double  the marbles left with you

=> B + 1  = 2 ( A - 1)

=> B = 2A  - 3

=> B = 2(B - 2)  - 3

=> B = 2B - 4 - 3

=> B = 7

A = B - 2 = 5

SAM has marbles =     5

Simran has Marbles = 7
