Sam has prepared a shopping list, where 1/5 of the total amount is reserved for dairy products
and 2/5 of the total amount is reserved for grocery out of which 1/2 is specifically reserved for grains. With the remaining amount of Rs. 2000 he shopped for clothes.

(a) What is the total amount of money?

(b) How much amount is reserved for grains?

1/5  of x =x/5    for dairy products

2/5  of x = 2x/5  for grocery

1/2 of 2/5 x =  x/5 for grains

1/5 of x  = x/5 for grains

x- (  x/5 + 2x/5  + x/5  ) = 2000 for clothes

x  - ( 4x/5  ) = 2000

x/5 = 2000

x =  2000*5

 =  Rs 10,000 (answer )

(b) x/5 for grains = 10000/ 5

                         = Rs 2000 (answer )
