Samarth Guru Swami Ramdas set up a lot of ‘Mathas’ and ‘Akharas’. In number, they are 1200.

He was born in Jamb village in 1530. He was a strong believer of God and followed religious principle. Samarth attained enlightenment at a very young age of 11 years. He believed all humans were equal and should not be differentiated based on creed or caste. He also supported secularism greatly.
