Answer:

8\frac{1}{4}  kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Sameera purchased 3\frac{1}{2} kg apples and  4\frac{3}{4} kg oranges .

To Find : What is the total weight of fruits purchased by her ?

Solution:

Sameera purchased apples = 3\frac{1}{2} kg

                                              =\frac{7}{2} kg

Sameera purchased oranges = 4\frac{3}{4} kg

                                              =\frac{19}{4} kg

Total weight = \frac{7}{2}+\frac{19}{4}

                     = \frac{14+19}{4}

                     = \frac{33}{4}

                     = 8\frac{1}{4}

Hence the total weight of fruits purchased by her is 8\frac{1}{4}  kg
