Given,

If she gives 3 Kachori's to each friend, one friend will get only 1 Kachori.

If she gives 2 Kachori's to each friend, she will be left with 13 Kachori's.

To find,

Total number of kachoris.

Solution,

Let,the total number of friends = x

(Assume, x as a variable to perform the further mathematical calculations.)

So,in the first scenario,

The number of friends got 3 kachoris = x-1

So,total number of kachoris

= {3×(x-1)}+1

= 3x-3+1

= 3x-2 ....(I)

And,in the second scenario,

The total number of kachoris

= (2×x)+13

= 2x+13 ....(II)

By comparing I and II,we will get the following mathematical equation :

3x-2 = 2x+13

3x-2x = 13+2

x = 15

Putting the value of x in equation I,we get that,

Total kachoris = (3×15)-2 = 45-2 = 43

Hence, she got total 43 kachoris for her birthday.
