speed from school to house = s / 900 ______( 2 ) 

avg speed =( $\frac{s}{900 }$ + $\frac{s}{900}$  ) 2

avg speed = ($\frac{2s}{ 900}$ ) /2

avg speed = $\frac{s}{ 900}$ 

$\frac{s}{ 900}$ =  20 /18 


s = (20 /18 ) x 900 

s = 50 x 20 

s= 1000 m 

s = 1 km
