Weight of apples= 3 1/2 kg = 7/2 kg

Weight of oranges= 4 3/4 kg = 19/4 kg

The denominators are different so we have to make the denominators same by taking the LCM.

           LCM of 2 and 4 is 4.

Weight of apples= 7/2 kg = 14/4 kg

Therefore, total weight=( 14/4 + 19/4 )kg = 33/4 kg = 8 1/4 kg
