a. Permanent pasture and grazing land.
b. Land under miscellaneous tree crops groves not included in the net sown area.
c. Cultivable wasteland. It is the land that is left uncultivated for more than five agricultural years.
6.The information with regard to the cultivation of rice is as follows ':'
• Annual rainfall required for rice crop is 175 to 300 cm.
Rainy season is well suitable for rice production, rice is the major crop in India.
• Kharif season is best for rice harvesting. Sowing time of rice is June to July. Rice harvested from November to December.
• The average temperature required for rice crop is between 20°C and 27°C.
• 15°C is mandatory for rice growth below this temperature germination cannot take place.
• Rice growing environments under deep water is 50cm to 100cm.
7.The agricultural and industrial sector is strongly dependent upon the mineral deposits which are limited in nature- only one percent of the earth crust. The geological process of formation of a mineral is very slow as compared to the rate of consumption. The minerals are finite and Non Renewable. The use of improved technology needs to be developed to allow the use of low-grade ores at a low cost. Other steps to conserve mineral resources are recycling of metals and using scrapped metals and other substitutes.

The leaders of the Sinhala community wanted to secure their dominance over the government due to their majority. They followed many majoritarian measures to establish their Supremacy. One such measure was the recognition of Sinhala as the only official language. This increased the feeling of alienation among the Sri Lankan Tamils. None of the major political party was sensitive to their language and culture.
