This know as the Nyquist rate . the sampling theorem states that a signal can be exactly reproduced if it is sampled at a frequency F , where F is greater than twice of maximum frequency at singal . when the signal is converted back into a continuous time signal , it will exhibit a phenomenon called ailasing .

Sampling frequency less than the Nyquist rate is known as the undersampling.

Explanation:

  • Undersampling is also known as the bandpass sampling is a process or technique in which we can collect the sample of bandpass filtered signal with the sample rate less than the Nyquist rate.
  • Nyquist rate is basically the folding frequency of a sampling system. The Nyquist rate has been introduced by the Harry Nyquist which has basically a double bandwidth of a band-limited frequency or bandwidth.
