San Francisco experiences a moderate climate because it is located close to the sea. Just like any other coastal regions it will face lesser fluctuations in climatic conditions.

Wichita is landlocked and located in the middle of the North America continent. It is very far from the sea and causes extreme fluctuations in weather conditions.

San Francisco lies in a rain shadow region and Their proximity to the part of ocean is different.

Apart from that the Sunrays get falls on the cities at different angles and also Their proximity to the mountains is different.

Hope this method will provide better ideas in a fine manner.
