according to Pythagoras thm
 {1}^{2}  +  {2}^{2}  =  {3}^{2}
here 1,2 means sides and 3 means hypotenuse
 {8}^{2}  +  {15}^{2}  =  {17}^{2}
64 + 225 = 289
289  = 289
therefore i agree with sandhya that 8 ,15 and 17 are triplets
