s = distance traveled by sandy in two days from the east coast towards the west coast = 200 miles
t = time of travel = 2 days
v = speed at which sandy is traveling from the east coast towards the west coast = ?
we know that , speed is given as
Speed = distance traveled / time taken
v = s/t
inserting the above values in the formula
v = 200/2 = 100 mile/day
d = number of days for which sandy kept traveling after two days
D = distance traveled in "d" days
Distance traveled in "d" more days is given as
D = v d
D = 100 d
Total distance from starting is then given as
X = D + s
X = 100 d + 200
