Given :  sanganabasava rides a bicycle from his home to ashrama. He covers 125 m at the end of first minute. 135 m at the end of second minute and so on. he reaches the ashram at the end of 10 min

To find : the distance between his home and ashram

Solution:

Forms an AP with d = 10 m  & a  = 125 m

1st Min distance = 125 m

2nd Min Distance = 135 m

3rd Min Distance  = 145 m

10Min Distance = 215 m      ( 125 + (10 - 1)10)

Sum of an AP = (n/2)(a  + Last term)

Total Distance  = (10/2)(125 + 215)

= 5 ( 340)

= 1700 m

= 1.7 km

distance between his home and ashram = 1.7 km
