GIVEN

Sangeet runs 5 times around a square park of Side 80m

Ankit runs 3 times around a rectangular park of Length = 225m and Breadth = 175m.

TO FIND :- The person who runs more and by how much.

SOLUTION

In both the cases the boys moves around the park which means we have to find the perimeter of both of Quadrilaterals.

CASE - 01

The Side of Square is 80m

Perimeter = 4 × Side

= 80m × 4

= 320m

Now Sangeet runs around it 5 times so the total distance he covered is

5 × 320m = 1600m

CASE - 02

The Length and Breadth are 225m and 175m respectively of the rectangle.

Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

= 2( 175 + 225 )m

= 2 × 400m

= 800m

Now Ankit Covers thrice so total distance he covered is

800m × 3

= 2400m

Hence Ankit Covered More distance by

(2400 - 1600)m = 800m (ANS)
