Explanation:

Within the red blood cells there is a protein called hemoglobin. Each hemoglobin protein is made up subunits called hemes, what give blood its red color.

(b) There are very thin capillaries present in our blood vessels. So, whe cut, blood oozes out immediately by cut of capillaries. So, the platelets prevent the blood to flow continously or permanently. The first step in healing a wound is the activation of platelets.

Correct route of blood flow in humans is -

  • Blood from different organs reaches right atrium. It is pumped into right ventricle. This blood is transported to lungs, to replace carbon dioxide with oxygen.

  • The oxygenated blood is transported to left atrium. It is further moves into left ventricle from where, through aorta, blood is transported to different organs.

  • Thus the route of flow is - right auricle -> right ventricle -> lungs -> left auricle -> left ventricle -> organs -> right auricle.
