Sanjeev ate 1/6 of a cake . He gave 1/5 of the remainder to his friend. He kept the rest of the cake . What fraction of the cake Did he keep ?

\huge\bold\blue{\underline{{Solution:-}}}

• Let the total Cake be x.

• Part of Cake Sanjeev ate =

 \big( \frac{1}{6} \big) x =  \frac{x}{6}

• Part remaining =

x -   \big(  \frac{1}{6} \big)x =  \frac{5x}{6}

• Part of Cake his friend ate =

 \big(  \frac{1}{5} \big)  \times  \frac{5x}{6}  =  \frac{x}{6}

• Part of Cake he keep =

x -  \big(   \frac{x}{6}  +  \frac{x}{6} \big)  \\  = x -  \big(  \frac{2x}{6}  \big)  \\     = x -  \frac{x}{3}   \\  =  \frac{2x}{3}

So, he keep 2/3 part of the cake.
