Answer:

10 rupees coin are 5 and 5 rupee coin are 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Sanjiv has rupees 60 in 10 rupee and 5 rupee coins. If the 10 rupee coins exceed the number of 5 rupee coins by three.

To find : How many coins of each does he have ?

Solution :

Let the number of 10 rupees coin be 'x'

and 5 rupees coin be' y'

According to question,

10x + 5y = 60 .....(1)

and number of 10 rupees coins are 3 more than 5 rupees coins

So,  10(y+3) + 5y =60

10y+30 + 5y =60

15y=30

y=2

Substitute in (1)

10x + 5(2) = 60

10x + 10= 60

10x=50

x=5

Therefore, 10 rupees coin are 5 and 5 rupee coin are 2.
