Answer:

length=10m,breadth=20m

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of plot=200m^2

let breadth of the plot be= X

then length of plot be= 10+x

Area of plot=l*b

200m^2=(10+x)x

200=10x + x^2

x^2 + 10x - 200 = 0

after factorising-

x^2 + 20x - 10x - 200 = 0

x(x+20) - 10(x+20) = 0

(x-10)(X+20)=0

So,

x=10,-20

But length cannot be negative

hence, length=x=10m

and breadth=10+x=10+10=20m

Let breadth be x

and length be x + 1

So,

Area = length × breadth

200 = ( x + 10 ) (x)

200 = x + 10

x

200 - x - 10 = 0

x

( LCM = x )

200 - - 10x = 0

x x x

200 - x² -10x = 0

x

- x² - 10x + 200 = x

( Splitting Middle Term )

- x² + 10x - 20x + 200 = x

- x ( x - 10 ) - 20 ( x - 10 ) = x

( x - 10 ) ( - x - 20 ) = x

Here either,

x - 10 or - x - 20

x = 10 - x = 20

x = - 20

Length of any thing cannot be in negative.

So, x =10

Length = x + 10

= 10 + 10

= 20m

Breadth = x

= 10m
