Santhosh packed 240 oranges and 288 apples in boxes. He packed oranges and
apples in separate boxes. He put equal number of fruits in each box. What is the
maximum number of fruits that can be put in each box?

To get the desired answer we will find the H.C.F of these two numbers.

Total number of Oranges = 624

Total number of apples = 288

Now,

On prime factorising we get,

288 = 2×2×2×2×2×3×3

and

624 = 2×2×2×2×3×13

Their HCF = 2×2×2×2×3 = 48

Thus, we find that to put the equal number of friuts in each box we have to put 48 fruits in each box.
