Santosh was quite a rebel; Santosh was born in in the small village of Joniyawas of Rewari District in Haryanaa. Her family was quite traditional. However, Santosh did not like traditional ways of life. She liked living her life in her own terms. Hence she wore shorts. The other female members of her family wore traditional attires such as saree, salwar kameez, etc.
She believed in herself, her dreams, and aspirations. She proved success is determined by the conviction. People are always there to criticize, let them! One should just stay focused on one’s goal and try one’s level best in making the dreams come true.
Santosh Yadav also faced a lot of opposition from the people around. She was discouraged and tried very hard not to go for the mountain climbing. But she knew she had to do it. She worked perseveringly, doggedly, facing all the challenges with a smile. The more the opposition, the stronger her resolve grew to climb the Everest. With God’s grace she became the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest twice, and the first woman to successfully climb Mt Everest from Kangshung Face. She is an inspiration to all of us. She teaches us to believe in the beauty of our dreams. Dream big; work big; hold on to them, they will surely become reality.
