Let grandparent's present age = x

Mother's present age = x/3

After 12 years

Grandparent = x + 12

Mother = x/3  + 12

grandmother will be just twice the Sanvi's mother:

x + 12 = 2(x/3  + 12)

x + 12 = 2x/3  + 36

x - 2x/3 = 36 - 12

x/3 = 24

x = 72

Grand mother's present age = 72 years

Mother's present age = 72/3 = 24 years

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let grandparent's present age = x

Mother's present age = x/3

After 12 years

Grandparent = x + 12

Mother = x/3 + 12

grandmother will be just twice the Sanvi's mother:

x + 12 = 2(x/3 + 12)

x + 12 = 2x/3 + 36

x - 2x/3 = 36 - 12

x/3 = 24

x = 72

Grand mother's present age = 72 years

Mother's present age = 72/3 = 24 years
