The constitutional assembly of India was made to draft a constitution for the newly independent country. The members were not elected as the election all over the country was practically not possible at that time, But it is believed if the election were conducted the members were same. Initially it had 389 members, the number was decreased to 296 after "Bharat-Pakistan Vibhajan". Those members are from all over the country. It was founded on 9 December 1946 and disbanded on 24 January 1950, The assembly was headed by Dr. Rajendra Prasad who later became the first president of independent India, The chairman of drafting committee was Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Who later became the law minister and the known to be "Father of Indian Constitution". The constitution made by this assembly with the special efforts of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is the longest written constitution in the world. It is an amazing blend of rules and laws the completely suits the country's "Unity in Diversity".
