Given that,

  • Sara, Nick and June share some sweets in the ratio 5:5:3.

☯ Let the sweets be 5x, 5x and 3x.

⠀⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀⠀

\underline{\bigstar\:\boldsymbol{According \ to \  Question \::}}\\ \\

  • Sara gets 18 more sweets than June.

⠀⠀⠀

Therefore,

⠀⠀⠀

:\implies\sf 5x = 3x + 18 \\\\\\:\implies\sf 5x - 3x = 18 \\\\\\:\implies\sf 2x = 18 \\\\\\:\implies\sf x = \cancel\dfrac{18}{2} \\\\\\:\implies{\underline{\boxed{\frak{\pink{x = 9}}}}}\:\bigstar

⠀⠀⠀

Hence,

⠀⠀⠀

  • Sara's sweets, 5x = 5(9) = 45
  • Nick's sweets, 5x = 5(9) = 45
  • June's sweets, 3x = 3(9) = 27

\therefore\:{\underline{\sf{Hence, \ Nick \ get s \  \bf{45 \ sweets}.}}}

Answer:

  • Sara : Nick : June = 5 : 5 : 3
  • Sara gets 18 more sweets than June

Let the sweets given to them be 5n , 5n and 3n respectively.

According to the Question :

⇒ Sara = June + 18

⇒ 5n = 3n + 18

⇒ 5n - 3n = 18

⇒ 2n = 18

⇒ n = 18 / 2

⇒ n = 9

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀───────────────

Sweets does Nick get :

⇢ Nick = 5n

⇢ Nick = 5 × 9

Nick = 45

Hence, Nick does get 45 sweets.
