Sarah and Gavyn win some money and share it in the ratio 5:3. Sarah gets £14 more than Gavyn. How much did Gavyn get?

the ratio of Sarah is 5x

the ratio of gavyn is 3x

now,

Sarah = 14 + x

total money => 5(14+x) + 3x = 8x

x = 35.
