Sarah and Henry share some sweets in the ratio 7:6.
Sarah eats 20 of her sweets and the ratio of sweets left becomes 1:2.

The ratio is 7:6, but because we do not know how many sweets each one had we will constitute it as - 7x and 6x

(7x-20) is how many sweets Sarah has now

6x is how many sweets Henry has now

The ratio is now 1:2

(7x-20)/6x=1/2

Cross multiply

2(7x-20)=1*6x

14x-40=6x

14x-6x=40

8x=40

x=40/8=5

5*6=30

Therefore, Henry had 30 sweets.
