Answer:

Step-by-step explanation: Let Sarah's age be x, Saniya's age be y.

A/Q, x=5+y and 3x-3=4y+4

=>x-y=5 =>3x-4y=7

Now that we have the equations, we can solve them by any method to get the value of x and y.

Hope it helps

Given : Sarah is five years older than Saniya & four more than four times Saniya's age is three less than three times Sarah's age .

Need To Find : Saniya's and Sarah's age ?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

Let's say that , Saniya's age be x yrs & Sarah's age be ( x + 5 ) yrs .i.e, Sarah is five years older than Saniya .

\\\qquad \:\:\bigstar \:\:\underline {\pmb{\pink {\boldsymbol {\: According \:To\:The \:Question \:\::\:}}}}\:\\\\

⠀▪︎⠀Four more than four times Saniya's age is three less than three times Sarah's age .

\\\\:\implies \sf  4\:\Big\{\: Saniya's\:age\:\Big\} \:+\:4\: =\:  3\:\Big\{\: Sarah's\:age\:\Big\} \:-\:3\:\:\\\\\\\\ :\implies \sf  4\:\Big\{\: x\:\Big\} \:+\:4\: =\:  3\:\Big\{\: x \:+\:5\:\Big\} \:-\:3\:\:\\\\\\\\:\implies \sf  \:\Big\{\: 4x\:\Big\} \:+\:4\: =\:  \:\Big\{\: 3x \:+\:15\:\Big\} \:-\:3\:\:\\\\\\\\:\implies \sf \: 4x \:+\:4\: =\:  \: 3x \:+\:15 \:-\:3\:\:\\\\\\\\ :\implies \sf \: 4x \:+\:4\: =\:  \: 3x \:+\:12 \:\:\\\\\\\\:\implies \sf \: 4x \:+\:4\: =\:  \: 3x \:+\:12 \:\:\\\\\\\\ :\implies \sf \: 4x \:-\:3x\: =\:12\:-\:8 \:\:\\\\\\\\:\implies \pmb {\underline {\boxed {\purple {\:\frak{ \:x\:\:=\:8\:yrs\:}}}}}\:\bigstar \: \\\\\\

Therefore,

  • Saniya's age will be , x = 8 yrs &
  • Sarah's age will be , ( x + 5) = ( 8 + 5 ) = 13 yrs .

\:\\\:\:\:\therefore \:\underline {\sf Hence , \: Saniya's \: and \: Sarah's \:ages\:are\:\pmb{\sf{ 8\:yrs\:and\:13\:yrs\:}}\:,\:respectively \:}\\
