The return trip was shorter by 37.5km.

When Sarfaraz is taking the journey to the village.

Distance to the station = 2km 500m = 2.5km, as 1m is equal to 0.001km

Distance travelled by train = 375km

Distance travelled by bus = 80km

So, total distance covered while going = (2.5+375+80)km = 457.5km

Distance travelled while coming back in taxi = 420km

So, he had to cover less distance while returning in taxi.

Difference in between the distances = (457.5-420)km = 37.5km
