Qᴜᴇꜱᴛɪᴏɴ:

Saritaben, Ayesha and Meenakshi started a business by investing 3400, 6200 and 4400 rupees. They made a profit of 50%. How should they share it ?

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ:

Total Capital = 2400 + 5200 + 3400 = 11000₹

Profit = 50%

 \sf{ \therefore total \: profit =   \large\frac{11000 \times 50}{100} }

The profit will be the same as the investment.

Wr simplify the ratio of two numbers by dividing by a common factor.

The same can be done for 3 or more numbers.

Proportion of shares = 2400:5200:3400

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 24:52:34⠀(dividing by 100)

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 12:26:17 ⠀(dividing by 2)

Assume that Saritaben's profit = 12p, Ayesha's = 26p , Meenakshi's = 17p
