Answer:

Travel in the Mara region and inside Amboseli National Park (though it's small) will slow you down. But assuming your're setting out from the east end of Amboseli NP (close to one of the two main gates) and your destination is close to Talek or Sekenani Gate of Maasai Mara National Reserve, you could do this trip in one *long* day. You're looking a mininimum 10 hours of driving, door to door. Add in delays and deliberate breaks, and I wouldn't expect it to take you less than 12 - which is all the hours of daylight you ever have in Kenya. And the gates close at 7, and wouldn't let you in at that time if you had far to drive.

Breaking the journey at Naivasha (not too much of a diversion) would be my suggestion too.

The average speed of journey is 81 kmph.

Given:

Sasha drives from Masai Mara to Amboseli at an average speed of 45kmph. Then she immediately drives from Amboseli to Masai Mara , at an average speed of 117kmph.

To find:

What is is average speed in kmph for the whole journey? Round off your answer to the nearest whole number.

Solution:

We have to find average speed and we have been given two speeds, so to find average we will add them and then divide the resultant by 2.

Average = sum of speed/2

Sum of speeds = 45 + 117 = 162

Average speed = 162/2

= 81 kmph

Hence, the answer is 81 kmph.
