Satellite TV manufacturing businesses tend to have what economists call "economies of scale when economies of
scale exist, bigness can be its own reward.
The more TV's you manufacture in a single Run, lower the cost per unit which in turn increases your bottom-line
margin.
Keeping that in mind, a TV manufacturing company increases its production uniformly by fixed number every year. Th
company produces 8000 TV sets in the sixth year and 11300 sets in the ninth year.
On the basis of the above information, answer the following questions:

1 the company's production of the first year is
2 the company's production of the 8 year is

given a TV production company's uniform increase in production every year such that in sixth year8000 sets and in ninth 11300year sets are produced, find their production in first and eighth year

Explanation:

  1. let the initial year's production number be 'y' , fixed number of increase in production be 'm'. Then, total sets produced in 't th' year is given by a linear function,             T=y+m(t-1)     ---(i)
  2. now given the total number of sets produced in sixth year we get,                        T=8000,\ t=6. Putting these in (i) we get,  y+5m=8000   ---(ii)
  3. now given the total number of sets produced in ninth year we get,                     T=11300,\ t=9. Putting these in (i) we get, y+8m=11300 ---(iii)
  4. solving equations (ii) ang (iii) we get,   y=2500,\ m=1100
  5. now the company's production in the first year =y\ =2500
  6. company's production in eighth year , T=2500+(1100x7) = 10,200
