Sati system was in practice in Nepal in the past.I think this system started because the old society at that time was male society and the society always thinked females could only do works by help of males and they thinked males could not do do anythingif males are not with them.I think this system continued for a long time because Nepalese people always believe in culture and Nepalese people always wants their culture remain from generation to generation.
