Given:

Velocity = 45 km/h

To find:

How much distance will be cover  (a) in one minute and (b) in one second ?

Solution:

1 km = 1000 m

1 h = 60 min

1 min = 60 s

So, 1h = 60 × 60 sec = 3600 s

1 km/h = 1000/3600 m/s = 5/18 m/s

∴ 45 km/h = 45 × (5/18) m/s = 25/2 m/s = 12.5 m/s

Distance = Speed × Time

a) in one minute

1 min = 60 sec

So, Distance = 12.5 × 60 m

Distance = 750 m

b) in one second

Distance = 12.5 × 1 m

Distance = 12.5 m
