ʀᴇǫᴜɪʀᴇᴅ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ-:

Correct question:

Saturated hydrocarbons are classified into two types.Write these names giving one example each.

Your mistake in question:

Mistake is that Saturated hydrocarbons are classified into two types not three types

Solution:

Hydrocarbons are classified into Two category - Open chain compound & closed chain compound.

Open chain Hydrocarbons :- Saturated & Unsaturated hydrocarbons.

Saturated Hydrocarbons :- Alkane are known as saturated hydrocarbons.

(The hydrocarbon whose valency must be satisfied by single covalent bond)

Unsaturated Hydrocarbons :- Alkene and Alkyne are known as unsaturated hydrocarbons. (Those hydrocarbons whose valency aren't satisfied by single covalent bond and there is need of double as well as tripple covalent bond in  satisfying the valency) .

Names as well as Example of Each

Alkane :-

general formula :- \tt{C_{n}H_{2n}+2}

Example - \tt{C_{2}H_{6}}---→ Ethane

Alkene :-

general formula :- \tt{C_{n}H_{2n}}

Example- \tt{C_{2}H_{4}}-----→Ethene

Alkyne :-

general formula :-  \tt{C_{n}H_{2n}-2}

Example :- \tt{C_{2}H_{2}}---→Ethyne (Acetylene)
