Answer:

the cost price of first fan = 1592.5 rupees,

the cost price  second fan = 2012.5 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of the fan 1 and fan 2 be x and y

according to the question,

x+y=3605

therefore, y = 3605 - x ............1

S.P of fan 1= C.P + profit

=>x+15% of x

=>x+15x/100

=>(100x+15x)/100

=>115x/100

S.P of fan 2 = C.P - loss

=>y - 9% of y

=>y - 9y/100

=>(100y-9y)/100

=>91y/100

According to the question,

S.P of fan 1 = S.P of fan 2

=>115x/100 = 91y/100

=>115x = 91y

=>115x = 91 (3605 - x)    ............(from 1)

=>115x = 328055-91x

=>115x + 91x = 328055

=>206x  = 328055

=>x=328055/206

=>x = 1592.5

y= 3605 - 1592.5 = 2012.5
