The difference between save and save as is
Save means saving the document in its current file type and saving the file in the default location which is set by you.
Eg: If you are creating a PowerPoint then you save it as its default type .ppt
Save as means saving the documents as a different file type from the original and this file type is chosen by you or you can decide keep it the same type and change where you want to save it instead of the default folder or place.
Eg: you are creating a PowerPoint and you do save as then you can change it to may be. Doc and chose where you want to save it.
Hope it helps :)
