Water scarcity can be defined as a situation when people don't have enough water to fulfil their basic needs. In that 71% percent of water, only 3% percent of water is usable which is used by us for many purposes. Saving water helps to preserve our environment. It reduces the energy required to process and deliver water, which helps in reducing pollution and in conserving fuel resources. If we save water now, we are helping to ensure a water availability adequate for today and for future generations. Human and animal live, birds and fish, small plants and large trees, and microorganisms will not become extinct as long as we have pure drinking water.

Water conservation and the prevention of water wastage is vital and we all can do simple things in order to reduce scarcity of water. For examples:

Rain water harvesting, prevention of dripping of water from taps, quick repair leakage from water pipes, turning off taps when not in use while brushing teeth, water for washing vegetable, fruits, and dishes can be reused for watering garden plants and flowers.
