Was born in Tamil Nadu on October,25.Studied at Schwartz High School from where he passed Higher Secondary Education and went on to graduate from St Joseph's College.He obtained his AMIT in Aeronautical Engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology.After competing his studies he joined Aeronautics Ltd.in Bangalore.Dr Kalam was awarded the most civilian honour the Bharat Ratna.The Seventy one year old scientist was installed as India's Eleventh President on July 25,2002.He lived a simple life and was broad minded in his thinking.In his spare time he liked playing veena and writing poetry in his mother tongue,Tamil.By nature Dr Kalam was a deeply religious man.
