Given equation is 3x^ 4 −27x^ 3  +36x^ 2  −5

Comparing with the standard form ax  

3  +bx  2  +xc+d=0, we get

a=3,b=−27,c=36,d=−5

S  1 =α+β+γ=− b /a

and S  2 =αβ+αγ+βγ=  c/a

​  

 

S  1  =−(−   27/3   )=9

S  2  =  36/3 =12

Therefore, S1  +S2 =9+12=21
