Being the Sports Secretary, I shall have the responsibility of developing the sports and games of the school to their most fulfilling form. Sports and games are an important part of our routine. They are far from the piles of homework, the burden of studies and the stress of life. We play out there, and we learn. We experience the joy of little victories, like plucking an outstanding catch, scoring a goal for our team, or leaping high to gain a basket. I intend to introduce a lot of improvements and fun-filling activities to make games a favourite hobby. It is not just studies that need encouraging, sports and games are equally important. We should have a PT block twice every week, where students get to decide the sport of their choice. Not that it will not be tough, because we will offer them a vast variety of games. From martials arts to swimming, table tennis to hockey, cricket to badminton, let's give them all. Giving them all is going to be a task, but with proper money management and funding programs, it will be possible. There are so many sports already in our school. But there are some forgotten sports too, sports that have been buried in the soil with our ancestors. To bring the old fun back, we should introduce these games like kho-kho, kancha and stapoo. We should organize a great number of competitions too: between the school houses, between classes or intra classes. Competitions will teach that failure or victory, it is the lesson that matters. Students will learn qualities like teamwork, confidence, bravery and discipline. Developing games and sports is not an easy job, but with the school's support and the students' help, we can make it possible.
